WELCOME TO JAY SAUNDERS PHOTOGRAPHY

My home photography studio is based in Ongar, Essex. This is where your ideas come to life. I specialise in newborn photography, cake smashes, family portraits and maternity photography. Over the past few years, I’ve equipped the studio with an extensive choice of props and outfits to offer endless possibilities for capturing the perfect shot that will last a lifetime.

Being a Mum of two girls, I have an appreciation of just how fast time flies by. It gives me immense pleasure to be able to freeze-frame the beginning of your babies’ journey into the world. They say, “never work with children or animals,” but I think I have the best job in the world. I get to welcome so many beautiful families. Sure, it’s messy sometimes, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.

PICTURES AS UNIQUE AS YOU

Each photography shoot is bespoke. Before your photography shoot, you will have the opportunity to choose colours, themes, props, outfits, and you can also bring your own props and outfits if you prefer. Every family I meet is unique, with their own story to tell. Once we’ve discussed your desires over a cuppa, it’s my job to bring your vision to life from behind the lens. 

As well as having free reign over the photography session, you’ll have a choice of options for how you’d like to receive the memories you made. Many parents choose a selection of mediums, rather than just one, but you have the choice of unframed/framed wall art, digital files, prints and albums. Wall art is by far the most popular. COMFORTABLE, COSY & OCCASIONALLY A LITTLE WILD 

Parents, take the opportunity to take the weight off your feet and enjoy a beverage that hasn’t gone cold for the fifth time today. There is a welcoming seating area with magazines for you to sit back and watch the shoot unfold. I should mention that I keep the studio at 25°C to make sure your little ones are nice and warm, but it also means that you’re likely to be sweating. Wearing comfortable clothing is recommended for Mum and Dad. 

My priority is always the safety and comfort of baby. If the photography shoot needs to be paused to feed or soothe your little one, I will pause and resume when you’re ready. Having been a newborn photographer for many years, I always expect the unexpected. In fact, it’s sometimes those moments that create the perfect shot!
