Training is such an important aspect of my job. It’s not something you do just once, you want to continue to learn refresh your skills, to grow and do better. After all, you are trusting me with the most precious thing in your life, I want you to be rest assured your little one is in safe hands.
I ADORE capturing memories for my lovely families and I am very passionate about newborn safety, which coupled with a huge demand kicked off my venture into training new and established photographers in the art of safe and effective posing.
So let me explain my training journey so far…
-
Maddy Rogers, Maddy Rogers Photography
I done 2 days 1:1 newborn training with Maddy at her home studio. It was the best investment I have made for my business.
I am also part of Maddy’s private facebook mentoring group which is amazing, as we get invaluable support daily.

Emma Jane, Little Love Photography
I attended a workshop with Emma where we had 2 beautiful newborns and covered everything from flow posing, safety, angles, lighting and much more.

Natasha Ince, Photography by Natasha Ince
Natasha is the queen of Maternity, so I had to try and learn from the best. Her workshop was so much fun and I learnt so much, I would defiantly recommend anyone thinking of booking a course with her to do so, you will not regret it.

Cass Vanhorn, Noelle Mirabella
Training with Cass was on the top of my list when I first started out. Her work is out of this world and at present I do not do much outdoors work. This is something I plan to change for 2020.
The whole day was just amazing and seeing how she creates such magical images was truly eye opening.

Thats all so far. I have another list for 2020, I want to ensure my skills are up to date and refreshed, so stayed tuned.
Psst…
Maddy Rogers has just released her dates for her 2020 mentoring programme! It’s an amazing opportunity, so get in touch before the spaces sell out…
A mentoring programme is an extension of a 1 or 2 day workshop or course that aims to give you more. A lot more.
The skills you need range from the obvious things like lighting, settings and angles, plus styling and using all the adorable props, to how to read the baby, keep them safe, comfortable and happy and of course, pose them.
Maddy’s newborn photography Hull is by far the best! She has wrote a great blog this week on bringing your dogs to your newborn sessions, its a great read so go and check it out.
Incredible!
Ooh you trained with Cass, was it amazing? x
Cass is amazing! You should do it 100%
Awww I am considering training with Maddy myself so this is amazing to read <3 Thank you
You won’t regret it! Maddy is fab
These ladies are so talented, as you you! I also love doing workshops and updating my skills. Especially with the newborns as different settling techniques are invaulable aren’t they.
Training is so important in order to be safe. Even with the best will in the world, baby’s are too precious to not be in the hands of a newborn photographer who hasn’t invested in training. Your photography is beautiful. Your training shows!
Beautiful images. I’m looking for more training courses next year so will definitely take a look at these!
Wow Jay, clearly all that training has paid off, your images are beautiful!! I adore Cass Vanhorns style too, it’s just breathtaking x
